Double Chocolate Vegan Brownies

This double chocolate vegan brownies recipe is oil free, gluten free, flour free, refined sugar free and vegan.

Today I am sharing with you another healthy dessert recipe. This is just one of the ideas of what you could bake on a Christmas day. I think brownies are one dessert that everyone can get excited for, don’t you think? These double chocolate brownies are so good, I guarantee you they will not last long!

Like many of my other recipes, this one contains no refined sugars, is oil free, gluten free and vegan. It is also suitable for people who eat paleo diet. This is why these brownies are great for most of the people with wide variety of special diets.

And remember that you can always alternate the recipe to your liking. The one thing you can play around in this recipe is what kind of nut flour or plant based milk you use. I used almond flour and almond milk, but you can for example use walnut flour or hazelnut flour and combine it with hazelnut milk, for example. If you can’t eat nuts, you can use coconut flour and soy milk instead.

The recipe will make you about 9 – 12 pieces, depends on how big you cut them. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge and they will last you for days. You can also freeze them and use later.

Serves: 9-12 pieces Prep Time: Cooking Time:

  • 2 cups Gluten Free Oat Flour
  • 1 cup Almond Flour
  • 10 Soaked Dates
  • 1/2 cup Raisins soaked in Rum
  • 2 tbsp Cacao Powder
  • 1/2 cup Coconut Sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 cups Almond Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 cup Melted Dark Vegan Chocolate

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl mix dry ingredients: oat flour, almond flour, cacao powder, coconut sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and raisins.
  3. Then you will mix soaked dates, vanilla extract and almond milk in a high speed blender.
  4. Now mix wet ingredients with dry ones, so you get smooth mixture.
  5. Pour the mixture into a baking tray.
  6. Bake for about 25 minutes.
  7. In the mean time melt chocolate. Bring about two inches of water to a simmer in a pot. Set the bowl with chocolate in the mouth of the pot. Make sure the bowl does not touch the water simmering in pot. Stir chocolate as it melts slowly. When almost all of the chocolate is melted, remove bowl from the pot – it will continue to melt.
  8. When brownies are done baking, top them with melted chocolate. Let them cool on a room temperature for about a half an hour, and then for another two hours in the fridge.
  9. Enjoy.
