Who ever said sweets can’t be delicious and healthy at the same time, was obviously wrong. There are so many options out there and chocolate walnut energy balls are one of them.
These energy balls are full of antioxidants, fiber, complex carbs and healthy fats. Therefore they’re such a good snack to have in between the meals or even after dinner. Healthy fats from walnuts will make you feel fuller for longer and the sweetness of dates will satisfy the sweet tooth – match made in heaven, if you ask me.
Like the title says, you won’t need a food processor for this recipe, but if you have one, feel free to use whole nuts and oats and ground them yourself. This way you will get even more nutrients in your sweet snack. Instead of oat flour you can use normal and quick oats, the result will be pretty much the same (taste-wise).

Until next time,
No Food Processor Chocolate Walnut Energy Balls
- 1 cup oat flour (ground oats)*
- 12 Medjool dates (soaked and finelly chopped)**
- 1/2 cup walnut meal (ground walnuts)
- 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
In a mixing bowl combine soaked chopped dates with cacao powder and walnut meal and mix well. Save some of the water you soaked dates in, in case you will need it later.
Add oat flour. Make sure all the ingredients are well combined. You will probably want to use your hands for mixing. If needed, add some of the water you soaked dates in.
Form small balls using your hands.
Store them in airtight container and let them rest in the refrigerator for a while.
* You can also use regular or quick oats.
** Soak the dates for at least 2 hours.
